Mouse LY96 (Lymphocyte Antigen 96) ELISA Kit
Mouse LY96 (Lymphocyte Antigen 96) ELISA Kit
The Mouse (LY96) Lymphocyte Antigen 96 ELISA Kit measures Lymphocyte antigen 96 in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse LY96 antibody. LY96 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse LY96 Antibody is added and binds to LY96 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated LY96 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse LY96. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Lymphocyte antigen 96, also known as "Myeloid Differentiation factor 2 (MD-2)," is a protein that in humans is encoded by the LY96 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is involved in binding lipopolysaccharide with Toll-Like Receptor (TLR4). The MD-2 protein appears to associate with toll-like receptor 4 on the cell surface and confers responsiveness to lipopolysaccharide (LPS), thus providing a link between the receptor and LPS signaling.[7] That is, the primary interface between TLR4 and MD-2 is formed before binding LPS and the dimerization interface is induced by binding LPS.
