Mouse MC1R (Melanocyte-stimulating Hormone Receptor) ELISA Kit
Mouse MC1R (Melanocyte-stimulating Hormone Receptor) ELISA Kit
The Mouse (MC1R) Melanocyte-stimulating Hormone Receptor ELISA Kit measures Melanocyte-Stimulating Hormone Receptor in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse MC1R antibody. MC1R present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse MC1R Antibody is added and binds to MC1R in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated MC1R antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse MC1R. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Receptor for MSH (alpha, beta and gamma) and ACTH (PubMed: 1325670). The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylate cyclase (PubMed: 1325670). Mediates melanogenesis, the production of eumelanin (black/brown) and phaeomelanin (red/yellow), via regulation of cAMP signaling in melanocytes (By similarity). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
