Mouse MCM2 (DNA Replication Licensing Factor Mcm2) ELISA Kit
Mouse MCM2 (DNA Replication Licensing Factor Mcm2) ELISA Kit
The Mouse (MCM2) DNA Replication Licensing Factor Mcm2 ELISA Kit measures DNA replication licensing factor MCM2 in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse MCM2 antibody. MCM2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse MCM2 Antibody is added and binds to MCM2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated MCM2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse MCM2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Acts as component of the MCM2-7 complex (MCM complex) which is the putative replicative helicase essential for 'once per cell cycle' DNA replication initiation and elongation in eukaryotic cells. The active ATPase sites in the MCM2-7 ring are formed through the interaction surfaces of two neighboring subunits such that a critical structure of a conserved arginine finger motif is provided in trans relative to the ATP-binding site of the Walker A box of the adjacent subunit. The six ATPase active sites, however, are likely to contribute differentially to the complex helicase activity. Required for the entry in S phase and for cell division. Plays a role in terminally differentiated hair cells development of the cochlea and induces cells apoptosis. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
