Mouse MEST (Mesoderm-specific Transcript Homolog Protein) ELISA Kit
Mouse MEST (Mesoderm-specific Transcript Homolog Protein) ELISA Kit
The Mouse (MEST) Mesoderm-specific Transcript Homolog Protein ELISA Kit measures Mesoderm-specific transcript homolog protein in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse MEST antibody. MEST present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse MEST Antibody is added and binds to MEST in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated MEST antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse MEST. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Mesoderm-specific transcript homolog protein is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MEST gene. This gene encodes a member of the Alpha/beta hydrolase superfamily and has isoform-specific imprinting. The loss of imprinting of this gene has been linked to certain types of cancer and may be due to promoter switching. The encoded protein may play a role in development. Three transcript variants encoding two distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. A pseudogene for this locus is located on chromosome 6. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
