Mouse NMU (Neuromedin U) ELISA Kit
The Mouse (NMU) Neuromedin U ELISA Kit measures Neuromedin U in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse NMU antibody. NMU present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse NMU Antibody is added and binds to NMU in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated NMU antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse NMU. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

[Neuromedin-U-23]: Ligand for receptors NMUR1 and NMUR2 (By similarity). Stimulates muscle contractions of specific regions of the gastrointestinal tract. [Neuromedin precursor-related Peptide 33]: Does not function as a ligand for either NMUR1 or NMUR2. Indirectly induces prolactin release although its potency is much lower than that of neuromedin precursor-related Peptide 36. [Neuromedin precursor-related Peptide 36]: Does not function as a ligand for either NMUR1 or NMUR2. Indirectly induces prolactin release from lactotroph cells in the pituitary gland, probably via the hypothalamic dopaminergic system.
