Mouse OSTN (Osteocrin) ELISA Kit

Mouse OSTN (Osteocrin) ELISA Kit

The Mouse (OSTN) Osteocrin ELISA Kit measures Osteocrin in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse OSTN antibody. OSTN present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse OSTN Antibody is added and binds to OSTN in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated OSTN antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse OSTN. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Hormone that acts as a ligand for natriuretic Peptide receptor NPR3/NPR-C and promotes bone growth and physical endurance in muscle. Acts as a regulator of osteoblast differentiation and bone growth by binding to natriuretic Peptide receptor NPR3/NPR-C, thereby preventing binding between NPR3/NPR-C and natriuretic Peptides, leading to increase cGMP production (PubMed: 14523025, PubMed: 17951249). Required to enhance physical endurance: induced following physical exercise in muscle and promotes cGMP production, probably by interacting with NPR3/NPR-C (PubMed: 26668395). May act as an autocrine and paracrine factor linked to glucose metabolism in skeletal muscle (PubMed: 15044443). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
