Mouse RXRB (Retinoid X Receptor Beta) ELISA Kit
Mouse RXRB (Retinoid X Receptor Beta) ELISA Kit
The Mouse (RXRB) Retinoid X Receptor Beta ELISA Kit measures Retinoid X receptor beta in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse RXRb antibody. RXRb present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse RXRb Antibody is added and binds to RXRb in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated RXRb antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse RXRb. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Receptor for retinoic acid. Retinoic acid receptors bind as heterodimers to their target response elements in response to their ligands, all-trans or 9-cis retinoic acid, and regulate gene expression in various biological processes. The RAR/RXR heterodimers bind to the retinoic acid response elements (RARE) composed of tandem 5'-AGGTCA-3' sites known as DR1-DR5. In the absence of ligand, acts mainly as an activator of gene expression due to weak binding to corepressors (By similarity).
The RXRA/RARB heterodimer can act as a repressor on the DR1 element and as an activator on the DR5 element (By similarity).
In concert with RARG, required for skeletal growth, matrix homeostasis and growth plate function (PubMed:19389355). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
