Mouse SRF (Serum Response Factor) ELISA Kit
Mouse SRF (Serum Response Factor) ELISA Kit
The Mouse (SRF) Serum Response Factor ELISA Kit measures Serum Response Factor in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse SRF antibody. SRF present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse SRF Antibody is added and binds to SRF in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated SRF antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse SRF. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
SRF is a transcription factor that binds to the serum response element (SRE), a short sequence of dyad symmetry located 300 bp to the 5' of the site of transcription initiation of some genes (such as FOS) (PubMed: 24732378). Together with MRTFA transcription coactivator, controls expression of genes regulating the cytoskeleton during development, morphogenesis and cell migration (PubMed: 12732141, PubMed: 19350017, PubMed: 24732378). The SRF-MRTFA complex activity responds to Rho GTPase-induced changes in cellular globular actin (G-actin) concentration, thereby coupling cytoskeletal gene expression to cytoskeletal dynamics (PubMed: 24732378). Required for cardiac differentiation and maturation (PubMed: 15169892). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
