Mouse TNMD (Tenomodulin) ELISA Kit
Mouse TNMD (Tenomodulin) ELISA Kit
The Mouse (TNMD) Tenomodulin ELISA Kit measures Tenomodulin in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse TNMD antibody. TNMD present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse TNMD Antibody is added and binds to TNMD in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated TNMD antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse TNMD. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Tenomodulin, also referred to as tendin, myodulin, Tnmd, or TeM, is a protein encoded by the TNMD (Tnmd) gene and was discovered independently by Brandau and Shukunami in 2001 as a gene sharing high similarity with the already known chondromodulin-1 (Chm1). It is a tendon-specific gene marker known to be important for tendon maturation with key implications for the residing tendon stem/progenitor cells (TSPCs) as well as for the regulation of endothelial cell migration in chordae tendineae cordis in the heart and in experimental tumour models. It is highly expressed in tendons, explaining the rationale behind its name and the establishment as being marker gene for tendinous and ligamentous lineages. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
