The Plant Putrescine (PTC) ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of putrescine, an important naturally occurring polyamine involved in plant growth, development, and stress responses. Putrescine is a key component of polyamine metabolism and serves as a precursor for the synthesis of spermidine and spermine. Its levels can change significantly during seed germination, cell division, root and shoot development, flowering, fruit development, and senescence, as well as in response to environmental stresses such as drought, salinity, heat, cold, oxidative stress, nutrient imbalance, and pathogen attack. Measuring putrescine is therefore useful in plant physiology, crop science, horticulture, plant breeding, and stress-biology research, particularly for comparing polyamine metabolism across plant tissues, developmental stages, cultivars, and experimental treatments.
