Porcine AMY2A (Pancreatic Alpha-amylase) ELISA Kit
Porcine AMY2A (Pancreatic Alpha-amylase) ELISA Kit
The Porcine (AMY2A) Pancreatic Alpha-amylase ELISA Kit measures Pancreatic alpha-amylase in Porcine samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Porcine AMY2A antibody. AMY2A present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Porcine AMY2A Antibody is added and binds to AMY2A in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated AMY2A antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Porcine AMY2A. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Pancreatic alpha-amylase is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the AMY2A gene. Amylases are secreted proteins that hydrolyze 1,4-alpha-glucoside bonds in oligosaccharides and polysaccharides, and thus catalyze the first step in digestion of dietary starch and glycogen. The human genome has a cluster of several amylase genes that are expressed at high levels in either salivary gland or pancreas. This gene encodes an amylase isoenzyme produced by the pancreas.
