Rat ABCG5 (Atp-binding Cassette Sub-family G Member 5) ELISA Kit

Rat ABCG5 (Atp-binding Cassette Sub-family G Member 5) ELISA Kit

The Rat (ABCG5) Atp-binding Cassette Sub-family G Member 5 ELISA Kit measures Atp-Binding Cassette Sub-Family G Member 5 in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat ABCG5 antibody. ABCG5 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat ABCG5 Antibody is added and binds to ABCG5 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ABCG5 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat ABCG5. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background ABCG5 and ABCG8 form an obligate heterodimer that mediates Mg(2+)- and ATP-dependent sterol transport across the cell membrane. Plays an essential role in the selective transport of dietary plant sterols and cholesterol in and out of the enterocytes and in the selective sterol excretion by the liver into bile. Required for normal sterol homeostasis. The heterodimer with ABCG8 has ATPase activity. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
