Rat ACTB (Actin, Cytoplasmic 1) ELISA Kit
Rat ACTB (Actin, Cytoplasmic 1) ELISA Kit
The Rat (ACTB) Actin, Cytoplasmic 1 ELISA Kit measures Actin, Cytoplasmic 1 in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat ACTB antibody. ACTB present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat ACTB Antibody is added and binds to ACTB in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ACTB antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat ACTB. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Actin is a highly conserved protein that polymerizes to produce filaments that form cross-linked networks in the cytoplasm of cells. Actin exists in both monomeric (G-actin) and polymeric (F-actin) forms, both forms playing key functions, such as cell motility and contraction. In addition to their role in the cytoplasmic cytoskeleton, G- and F-actin also localize in the nucleus, and regulate gene transcription and motility and repair of damaged DNA.
