Rat APLNR (Apelin Receptor) ELISA Kit
Rat APLNR (Apelin Receptor) ELISA Kit
The Rat (APLNR) Apelin Receptor ELISA Kit measures Apelin Receptor in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat APLNR antibody. APLNR present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat APLNR Antibody is added and binds to APLNR in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated APLNR antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat APLNR. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Receptor for apelin receptor early endogenous ligand (APELA) and apelin (APLN) hormones coupled to G proteins that inhibit adenylate cyclase activity (PubMed: 11359874). Plays a key role in early development such as gastrulation, blood vessels formation and heart morphogenesis by acting as a receptor for APELA hormone. May promote angioblast migration toward the embryonic midline, i.e. the position of the future vessel formation, during vasculogenesis. Promotes sinus venosus (SV)-derived endothelial cells migration into the developing heart to promote coronary blood vessel development. Plays also a role in various processes in adults such as regulation of blood vessel formation, blood pressure, heart contractility and heart failure (By similarity). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
