The Rat (BMPR-1A) Bone Morphogenetic Protein Receptor 1A ELISA Kit measures Bone Morphogenetic Protein Receptor 1A in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat BMPR1A antibody. BMPR1A present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat BMPR1A Antibody is added and binds to BMPR1A in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated BMPR1A antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat BMPR1A. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Type II receptors phosphorylate and activate type I receptors which autophosphorylate, then bind and activate SMAD transcriptional regulators. Receptor for BMP2, BMP4, GDF5 and GDF6.
