Rat CATH-B (Cathepsin B) ELISA Kit
Rat CATH-B (Cathepsin B) ELISA Kit
The Rat (CATH-B) Cathepsin B ELISA Kit measures Cathepsin B in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat cath-B antibody. cath-B present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat cath-B Antibody is added and binds to cath-B in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated cath-B antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat cath-B. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Cathepsin B belongs to a family of lysosomal cysteine proteases and plays an important role in intracellular proteolysis. In humans, cathepsin B is encoded by the CTSB gene. Cathepsin B is upregulated in certain cancers, in pre-malignant lesions, and in various other pathological conditions. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
