Rat CATH-K (Cathepsin K) ELISA Kit
Rat CATH-K (Cathepsin K) ELISA Kit
The Rat (CATH-K) Cathepsin K ELISA Kit measures Cathepsin K in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat CTSK antibody. CTSK present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat CTSK Antibody is added and binds to CTSK in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CTSK antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat CTSK. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Thiol protease involved in osteoclastic bone resorption and may participate partially in the disorder of bone remodeling. Displays potent endoprotease activity against fibrinogen at acid pH. May play an important role in extracellular matrix degradation. Involved in the release of thyroid hormone thyroxine (T4) by limited proteolysis of TG/thyroglobulin in the thyroid follicle lumen.
