Rat CNX (Calnexin) ELISA Kit
The Rat (CNX) Calnexin ELISA Kit measures Calnexin in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat CANX antibody. CANX present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat CANX Antibody is added and binds to CANX in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CANX antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat CANX. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Calcium-binding protein that interacts with newly synthesized glycoproteins in the endoplasmic reticulum. It may act in assisting protein assembly and/or in the retention within the ER of unassembled protein subunits. It seems to play a major role in the quality control apparatus of the ER by the retention of incorrectly folded proteins. Associated with partial T-cell antigen receptor complexes that escape the ER of immature thymocytes, it may function as a signaling complex regulating thymocyte maturation.
