Rat DCXR (Dicarbonyl and L-xylulose Reductase) ELISA Kit
The Rat (DCXR) Dicarbonyl and L-xylulose Reductase ELISA Kit measures Dicarbonyl/L-Xylulose Reductase in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat DCXR antibody. DCXR present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat DCXR Antibody is added and binds to DCXR in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated DCXR antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat DCXR. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Catalyzes the NADPH-dependent reduction of several pentoses, tetroses, trioses, alpha-dicarbonyl compounds and L-xylulose. Participates in the uronate cycle of glucose metabolism. May play a role in the water absorption and cellular osmoregulation in the proximal renal tubules by producing xylitol, an osmolyte, thereby preventing osmolytic stress from occurring in the renal tubules.
