The Rat (DYNC1H1) Cytoplasmic Dynein 1 Heavy Chain 1 ELISA Kit measures Cytoplasmic dynein 1 heavy chain 1 in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat DYNC1H1 antibody. DYNC1H1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat DYNC1H1 Antibody is added and binds to DYNC1H1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated DYNC1H1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat DYNC1H1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Cytoplasmic dynein 1 acts as a motor for the intracellular retrograde motility of vesicles and organelles along microtubules. Dynein has ATPase activity; the force-producing power stroke is thought to occur on release of ADP. Plays a role in mitotic spindle assembly and metaphase plate congression.
