Rat F12 (Coagulation Factor 12) ELISA Kit
Rat F12 (Coagulation Factor 12) ELISA Kit
The Rat (F12) Coagulation Factor 12 ELISA Kit measures Coagulation Factor 12 in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat F12 antibody. F12 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat F12 Antibody is added and binds to F12 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated F12 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin- HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat F12. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Factor XII is a serum glycoprotein that participates in the initiation of blood coagulation, fibrinolysis, and the generation of bradykinin and angiotensin. Prekallikrein is cleaved by factor XII to form kallikrein, which then cleaves factor XII first to alpha-factor XIIa and then trypsin cleaves it to beta-factor XIIa. Alpha-factor XIIa activates factor XI to factor XIa (By similarity). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
