Rat GATA-4 (Transcription Factor GATA-4) ELISA Kit
Rat GATA-4 (Transcription Factor GATA-4) ELISA Kit
The Rat (GATA-4) Transcription Factor GATA-4 ELISA Kit measures Transcription factor GATA-4 in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat GATA4 antibody. GATA4 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat GATA4 Antibody is added and binds to GATA4 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated GATA4 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat GATA4. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Transcriptional activator that binds to the consensus sequence 5'-AGATAG-3' and plays a key role in cardiac development (By similarity).
In cooperation with TBX5, it binds to cardiac super-enhancers and promotes cardiomyocyte gene expression, while it downregulates endocardial and endothelial gene expression (By similarity).
Acts as a transcriptional activator of ANF in cooperation with NKX2-5 (By similarity).
Promotes cardiac myocyte enlargement (By similarity).
Required during testicular development (By similarity).
Involved in bone morphogenetic protein (BMP)-mediated induction of cardiac-specific gene expression (PubMed:15329343).
Binds to BMP response element (BMPRE) DNA sequences within cardiac activating regions (PubMed:15329343).
May play a role in sphingolipid signaling by regulating the expression of sphingosine-1-phosphate degrading enzyme, sphingosine-1-phosphate lyase (By similarity). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
