Rat ID2 (DNA-binding Protein Inhibitor Id-2) ELISA Kit
Rat ID2 (DNA-binding Protein Inhibitor Id-2) ELISA Kit
The Rat (ID2) DNA-binding Protein Inhibitor Id-2 ELISA Kit measures DNA-binding protein inhibitor ID-2 in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat ID2 antibody. ID2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat ID2 Antibody is added and binds to ID2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ID2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin- HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat ID2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Transcriptional regulator (lacking a basic DNA binding domain) which negatively regulates the basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factors by forming heterodimers and inhibiting their DNA binding and transcriptional activity. Implicated in regulating a variety of cellular processes, including cellular growth, senescence, differentiation, apoptosis, angiogenesis, and neoplastic transformation. Inhibits skeletal muscle and cardiac myocyte differentiation. Regulates the circadian clock by repressing the transcriptional activator activity of the CLOCK-ARNTL/BMAL1 heterodimer. Restricts the CLOCK and ARNTL/BMAL1 localization to the cytoplasm. Plays a role in both the input and output pathways of the circadian clock: in the input component, is involved in modulating the magnitude of photic entrainment and in the output component, contributes to the regulation of a variety of liver clock-controlled genes involved in lipid metabolism (By similarity).
