Rat KLK 1 (Kallikrein 1) ELISA Kit
Rat KLK 1 (Kallikrein 1) ELISA Kit
The Rat (KLK 1) Kallikrein 1 ELISA Kit measures Kallikrein 1 in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat KLK 1 antibody. KLK 1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat KLK 1 Antibody is added and binds to KLK 1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated KLK 1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat KLK 1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Kallikrein-1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the KLK1 gene. KLK1 is a member of the peptidase S1 family. Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases having diverse physiological functions. Growing evidence suggests that many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and some have potential as novel cancer and other disease biomarkers. This gene is one of the fifteen kallikrein subfamily members located in a cluster on chromosome 19. This protein is functionally conserved in its capacity to release the vasoactive peptide, Lys-bradykinin, from low molecular weight kininogen. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
