Rat MAP-2 (Microtubule-associated Protein 2) ELISA Kit
Rat MAP-2 (Microtubule-associated Protein 2) ELISA Kit
The Rat (MAP-2) Microtubule-associated Protein 2 ELISA Kit measures Microtubule-Associated Protein 2 in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat MAP2 antibody. MAP2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat MAP2 Antibody is added and binds to MAP2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated MAP2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat MAP2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
The exact function of MAP2 is unknown but MAPs may stabilize the microtubules against depolymerization. They also seem to have a stiffening effect on microtubules. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
