The Rat (NOX4) Nadphoxidase 4 ELISA Kit measures NADPH oxidase 4 in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat NOX4 antibody. NOX4 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat NOX4 Antibody is added and binds to NOX4 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated NOX4 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat NOX4. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Constitutive NADPH oxidase which generates superoxide intracellularly upon formation of a complex with CYBA/p22phox. Regulates signaling cascades probably through phosphatases inhibition. May function as an oxygen sensor regulating the KCNK3/TASK-1 potassium channel and HIF1A activity. May regulate insulin signaling cascade.
