Rat NT-3 (Neurotrophin 3) ELISA Kit
Rat NT-3 (Neurotrophin 3) ELISA Kit
The Rat (NT-3) Neurotrophin 3 ELISA Kit measures Neurotrophin 3 in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat NT-3 antibody. NT-3 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat NT-3 Antibody is added and binds to NT-3 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated NT-3 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat NT-3. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Neurotrophin-3 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the NTF3 gene. The protein encoded by this gene, NT-3, is a neurotrophic factor in the NGF (Nerve Growth Factor) family of neurotrophins. It is a protein growth factor which has activity on certain neurons of the peripheral and central nervous system; it helps to support the survival and differentiation of existing neurons, and encourages the growth and differentiation of new neurons and synapses. NT-3 was the third neurotrophic factor to be characterized, after nerve growth factor (NGF) and BDNF (Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
