Rat PRLR (Prolactin Receptor) ELISA Kit
Rat PRLR (Prolactin Receptor) ELISA Kit
The Rat (PRLR) Prolactin Receptor ELISA Kit measures Prolactin receptor in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat PRLR antibody. PRLR present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat PRLR Antibody is added and binds to PRLR in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated PRLR antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat PRLR. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
The prolactin receptor (PRLR) is a type I cytokine receptor[1] encoded in humans by the PRLR gene on chromosome 5p13-14. It is the receptor for prolactin (PRL). The PRLR can also bind to and be activated by growth hormone (GH) and human placental lactogen (hPL). The PRLR is expressed in the mammary glands, pituitary gland, and other tissues. It plays an important role in lobuloalveolar development of the mammary glands during pregnancy and in lactation. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
