Rat RYR2 (Ryanodine Receptor 2) ELISA Kit
Rat RYR2 (Ryanodine Receptor 2) ELISA Kit
The Rat (RYR2) Ryanodine Receptor 2 ELISA Kit measures Ryanodine receptor 2 in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat RYR2 antibody. RYR2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat RYR2 Antibody is added and binds to RYR2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated RYR2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat RYR2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Calcium channel that mediates the release of Ca2+ from the sarcoplasmic reticulum into the cytoplasm and thereby plays a key role in triggering cardiac muscle contraction. Aberrant channel activation can lead to cardiac arrhythmia. In cardiac myocytes, calcium release is triggered by increased Ca2+ levels due to activation of the L-type calcium channel CACNA1C. The calcium channel activity is modulated by formation of heterotetramers with RYR3. Required for cellular calcium ion homeostasis. Required for embryonic heart development (By similarity).
