Rat SE-S (Selenoprotein-S) ELISA Kit
Rat SE-S (Selenoprotein-S) ELISA Kit
The Rat (SE-S) Selenoprotein-S ELISA Kit measures Selenoprotein-S in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat Se-S antibody. Se-S present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat Se-S Antibody is added and binds to Se-S in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated Se-S antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat Se-S. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Involved in the degradation process of misfolded endoplasmic reticulum (ER) luminal proteins. Participates in the transfer of misfolded proteins from the ER to the cytosol, where they are destroyed by the proteasome in a ubiquitin-dependent manner. Probably acts by serving as a linker between DERL1, which mediates the retrotranslocation of misfolded proteins into the cytosol, and the ATPase complex VCP, which mediates the translocation and ubiquitination (By similarity).
