Rat STIM1 (Stromal Interaction Molecule 1) ELISA Kit
Rat STIM1 (Stromal Interaction Molecule 1) ELISA Kit
The Rat (STIM1) Stromal Interaction Molecule 1 ELISA Kit measures Stromal interaction molecule 1 in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat STIM1 antibody. STIM1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat STIM1 Antibody is added and binds to STIM1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated STIM1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat STIM1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Plays a role in mediating store-operated Ca2+ entry (SOCE), a Ca2+ influx following depletion of intracellular Ca2+ stores (By similarity).
Acts as Ca2+ sensor in the endoplasmic reticulum via its EF-hand domain. Upon Ca2+ depletion, translocates from the endoplasmic reticulum to the plasma membrane where it activates the Ca2+ release-activated Ca2+ (CRAC) channel subunit ORAI1 (PubMed:16208375).
Involved in enamel formation (By similarity).
Activated following interaction with STIMATE, leading to promote STIM1 conformational switch (By similarity). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
