Rat TAGLN (Transgelin) ELISA Kit
Rat TAGLN (Transgelin) ELISA Kit
The Rat (TAGLN) Transgelin ELISA Kit measures Transgelin in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat TAGLN antibody. TAGLN present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat TAGLN Antibody is added and binds to TAGLN in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated TAGLN antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat TAGLN. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Transgelin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TAGLN gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a transformation and shape-change sensitive actin cross-linking/gelling protein found in fibroblasts and smooth muscle. Its expression is down-regulated in many cell lines, and this down-regulation may be an early and sensitive marker for the onset of transformation. A functional role of this protein is unclear. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
