The Rat (TRIM63) E3 Ubiquitin-protein Ligase Trim63 ELISA Kit measures E3 Ubiquitin-Protein Ligase Trim63 in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat TRIM63 antibody. TRIM63 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat TRIM63 Antibody is added and binds to TRIM63 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated TRIM63 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat TRIM63. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
E3 ubiquitin ligase. Mediates the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of CKM, GMEB1 and HIBADH. Regulates the proteasomal degradation of muscle proteins under amino acid starvation, where muscle protein is catabolized to provide other organs with amino acids. Inhibits de novo skeletal muscle protein synthesis under amino acid starvation. Regulates proteasomal degradation of cardiac troponin I/TNNI3 and probably of other sarcomeric-associated proteins. May play a role in striated muscle atrophy and hypertrophy by regulating an anti-hypertrophic PKC-mediated signaling pathway. May regulate the organization of myofibrils through TTN in muscle cells.
