Rat UCHL1 (Ubiquitin Carboxyl-terminal Hydrolase Isozyme L1) ELISA Kit

Rat UCHL1 (Ubiquitin Carboxyl-terminal Hydrolase Isozyme L1) ELISA Kit

The Rat (UCHL1) Ubiquitin Carboxyl-terminal Hydrolase Isozyme L1 ELISA Kit measures Ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase isozyme L1 in Rat samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Rat UCHL1 antibody. UCHL1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat UCHL1 Antibody is added and binds to UCHL1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated UCHL1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat UCHL1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Ubiquitin-protein hydrolase involved both in the processing of ubiquitin precursors and of ubiquitinated proteins (By similarity). This enzyme is a thiol protease that recognizes and hydrolyzes a peptide bond at the C-terminal glycine of ubiquitin (By similarity). Also binds to free monoubiquitin and may prevent its degradation in lysosomes (By similarity). The homodimer may have ATP-independent ubiquitin ligase activity (By similarity).
